Convert NAB Bank Statement to Excel

NAB statements list transactions with Date, Particulars, Debits, Credits, and Balance, with NAB’s particulars field carrying transfer references and merchant details that frequently wrap. Like CommBank, NAB marks some balances with CR/DR indicators; the converter interprets them correctly so overdrawn periods keep accurate negative balances instead of silently flipping positive.

Statements download from NAB Internet Banking (Statements under the account) or the NAB app, with up to 7 years available for most accounts. Everything is processed locally — relevant for accountants handling client statements under confidentiality obligations. The Excel output separates debits and credits with a totals row, and any row failing the balance-continuity check is flagged for a quick manual look.

NAB statement FAQ

Where do I download statements in NAB Internet Banking?

Log in, select the account, and open the Statements section. Choose the period and download the PDF; the NAB app exposes the same archive (up to about 7 years).

Does the converter understand NAB’s CR/DR balance markers?

Yes — CR reads as positive and DR as negative, keeping balance verification accurate through overdrafts, which is where naive parsers corrupt the whole downstream ledger.

Will NAB transfer references in the particulars column be preserved?

Yes. Wrapped particulars lines are rejoined into one Description cell per transaction, so references remain searchable in Excel.
