A Kiwibank statement is genuinely well organised: an account details section up top, a transaction section listing withdrawals, deposits, interest and fees with a running account balance down the right-hand side, and a closing account balance at the end. Ironically, that clarity doesn’t survive manual transcription — retyping withdrawal and deposit figures into separate spreadsheet columns invites transposition errors, and rebuilding the balance column with a formula only tells you something went wrong, not where. The Kiwibank app won’t let me download statements — is that a problem?
Kiwibank only provides statement downloads through internet banking, not the app. Log in at banking.kiwibank.co.nz from any browser (your phone’s works fine), open the Statement vault under Settings, and download from there.
What does line-by-line balance validation mean for Kiwibank files?
For each transaction, SheetMyBank recomputes the expected balance from the previous balance plus the deposit or minus the withdrawal, then compares it with the figure Kiwibank printed. Any mismatch is highlighted at the exact offending row.
How do I reach statements older than a year?
The Statement vault lists the last 12 months by default; selecting Show All expands the list to earlier statements, and every PDF it produces is convertible the same way.
