Convert a Bank Statement to QuickBooks

QuickBooks will not read a PDF bank statement directly: QuickBooks Online imports bank activity from CSV or Web Connect (.qbo) uploads, and QuickBooks Desktop takes .qbo files only. When the transactions you need are locked inside a statement PDF — a prior year for a cleanup job, a closed account, a client who only forwards PDFs — you first have to get them into one of those formats. This page does the conversion: drop the PDF, get an import-ready .qbo or a five-column CSV.

Accuracy is the whole game when the output feeds a general ledger, so every extracted amount is checked against the statement’s running balance before you download anything; rows that do not reconcile are highlighted instead of being silently written into the file. Processing happens entirely in your browser — the statement is never transmitted or stored, so client documents stay on your machine from download to import.

How it works

1

Convert the PDF below

Drop the statement PDF into the converter. Parsing, balance verification, and file generation all run on your device.

2

Choose your QuickBooks path

Download QuickBooks (.qbo) for a direct Web Connect import, or CSV if you prefer to review and map columns during upload in QuickBooks Online.

3

Import in QuickBooks

Online: Transactions → Bank transactions → Upload from file. Desktop: Banking → Bank Feeds → Import Web Connect file, then match the account.

Bank Statement to QuickBooks FAQ

Should I import a CSV or a QBO file into QuickBooks?

QuickBooks Online takes both: QBO files map fields automatically, while CSV shows a column-mapping step you can review. QuickBooks Desktop only imports .qbo Web Connect files, so use QBO there. Both exports come from the same verified transaction table.

Can QuickBooks import a PDF bank statement on its own?

No. Neither QuickBooks Online nor Desktop can parse a PDF statement — Intuit’s import paths are CSV, QBO/Web Connect, and live bank feeds. Converting the PDF to one of those formats is the required intermediate step, which is what this tool does.

Is it safe to run client statements through this?

The statement never leaves the machine it is on. Extraction and file generation are JavaScript running in your browser — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the conversion still completes. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or retained.
