Convert Credit Card Statement to Excel
Credit card statements are laid out for reading, not for spreadsheets: purchases, payments and credits, fees, and interest each live in their own section, transactions carry both a transaction date and a post date, and many issuers print no per-line running balance at all. Re-keying that into Excel for an expense report or month-end books is slow and error-prone. This converter reads the card statement PDF and merges every section into a single chronological table, with charges in the Debit column and payments or refunds in the Credit column.
It works with statements from the major issuers — Amex, Chase, Capital One, Discover, Citi, and bank-issued cards alike — and where the statement does include balance data, each amount is reconciled against it, with unverifiable rows highlighted for review rather than silently exported. Conversion is 100% in-browser: the statement, with its card number and merchant history, is never uploaded or stored anywhere.

How it works
Drop the card statement PDF
Drag the credit card statement into the converter — downloaded PDFs work best, and photos or scans are handled by the OCR beta.
Review purchases and payments
The preview shows one merged, date-sorted table. Charges and payments are already split into Debit and Credit columns, matching the section totals printed on the statement.
Download the Excel file
One click produces an .xlsx with a Transactions sheet and, only when something needs attention, a Warnings sheet. Prefer CSV, QBO, or QFX? Switch the format in the menu.
Credit Card Statement to Excel FAQ
Which card issuers are supported?
The extractor is layout-driven rather than issuer-specific, so statements from Amex, Chase, Capital One, Discover, Citi, and bank-issued Visa or Mastercard products all convert. If a statement produces odd rows, they are highlighted in the preview so you see it immediately.
How are payments and refunds told apart from purchases?
Purchases and fees land in the Debit column; payments, refunds, and statement credits land in the Credit column. Column totals in the Excel file line up with the activity summary the issuer prints, which makes a quick sanity check easy.
My card statement has no running balance column — does verification still work?
Balance verification applies wherever balance data exists on the statement. Card statements without per-line balances still get structural checks, and the totals row lets you compare against the printed new-balance figure. Rows the engine is unsure about are always highlighted, never silently included.
